About Us

At La Petite Pediatric Clinic, we are board-certified Pediatricians committed to providing your children with evidence-based medical care through best practice guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatrics. But perhaps most importantly, as Pediatrician moms, we understand that a well-informed mother equals a healthy and well-balanced child.

We understand the joy, beauty, and overflowing love of motherhood, but also relate to the fear, exhaustion, uncertainty, and guilt moms experience at times. While Google, friends, and relatives are often an immediate reach for reassurance and advice, we want you to know that we are here for you, too! Providing compassionate ears and trusted advice to help you navigate parenthood, we welcome you and your children to our La Petite family, your medical home.

Drs. LeJeune and Sicard have been working together since 2011 when they met at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, LA, during their pediatric residency training. Since moving back to south Louisiana with their families, they have been serving the Acadiana area together since 2016. Their love of teaching and deep commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine makes them a great team, and they are thrilled to open their new practice in Lafayette, LA!

Having a baby?

Drs. LeJeune and Sicard do not see newborns in the hospital. Your infant will be cared for by experienced newborn hospitalists to determine your child’s individual healthcare plan during their stay. We recommend scheduling your baby’s first visit to our office within a few days of discharge from the hospital. When you call, please be sure to let us of any medical issues your newborn experienced in the hospital, such as prematurity, jaundice, or weight loss.

Please note that while we do not generally require a prenatal visit before accepting a newborn as a patient, we will only accept babies born via homebirth whose parents call us within 24 hours of delivery to schedule the first visit with a pediatrician.

Dr. Geneva LeJeune

Geneva G. LeJeune,  MD, FAAP

Geneva Guidry LeJeune was born and raised in south Louisiana. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Magna Cum Laude. She then spent two years working as a medical technologist before entering medical school at the American University of the Caribbean, St. Maarten, Netherland Antilles.

After graduating from medical school in 2011, Dr. LeJeune went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, LA, where she served as chief resident during her final year in 2014. She then moved home to south Louisiana with her husband and two sons.

Her years at LSU Health Science Center helped instill a love of teaching as well as a firm commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine. She has a particular interest in child safety, ADHD diagnosis and management, and health & nutrition. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Outside the office, you will most likely find her spending time with family and friends enjoying all Acadiana has to offer.

Dr. LeJeune is very excited to open her practice in Lafayette, LA, with a focus on the values she finds most important in medicine today.

Dr. Colleen Sicard - La Petite Pediatric Clinic
Dr. Colleen Sicard

Colleen C. Sicard,  MD, FAAP

Dr. Sicard is honored to serve the children and families of Acadiana. After living away from the area for 13 years for her undergraduate studies and medical training, Dr. Sicard was excited to move home to Lafayette. She and her husband graduated from Lafayette High School in 2003, then went on to complete undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University. Dr. Sicard earned her MD in 2011 from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and completed her residency training in pediatrics there in 2014. During that time, she was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and served as Chief Resident in her final year of training.

Dr. Sicard loves teaching and worked for two years instructing other physicians in Shreveport at LSU Health Sciences Center. In 2016 she returned to Lafayette and has since been working side by side with Dr. LeJeune. They are excited about the new journey they have begun.

A board-certified pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Dr. Sicard highly values practicing the most current evidence-based medicine, and believes that children thrive in a nurturing and loving environment with emphasis on proper nutrition, daily exercise, and adequate sleep. She is grateful to be on this wonderful adventure with you!

At home, Dr. Sicard enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Together they share a love for local food and entertainment, which luckily is not in short supply in Acadiana!
